Inspiration
If you are have an idea and you think it can be made out of metal, then this is a good place to start. Clients sometimes have a very specific idea of what they are after, or it may be more of a concept. My website gives an overview of what I have made in the past, but I am always very open to new challenges.
-
3D Drawings
From inspiration, you will usually be sent a 3D rendering of the design. When we are talking about fender seats, I usually draw the room as well so there is a clearer understanding of what it may look like in front of the fire and whether the colour is right. It can be very helpful to see how far the seats may come into the room. Hand in hand with the 3D renderings are drawings with all the necessary dimensions on it.
-
Material Selection
Once the designs are agreed, it comes down to materials. Most of my work here is done with mild steel, but if its a table top, it may have marble, copper, or glass as well. The finish has to be selected too. I have hundreds of powder coat samples and I am always very happy to post them out if necessary. I also make things out of brass and stainless steel.
-
Fabrication
Fabrication is where the physical work begins. Cutting, welding, and shaping. Using tools ranging from traditional hammers to CNC plasma cutters. Often designs need to be tinkered with midway, and I will keep you updated as the build goes.
-
Finishing and Powder Coating
Beyond structure, there's the surface to consider. Finishing touches include a spectrum of powder coating options, providing durability and a flawless finish. Metal can also be given a patina or left raw. The samples above are just a small example of colours.

Delivery and Installation
The final step is delivery. Wherever possible, I will be the one to bring it to its final destination to make sure you are happy.
